Larry "Drums" Brancaccio Crash at
2015 IHRA Summernationals in Cordova, Illinois
6.37 at 214 mph
Drums was in an accident. He ran off the end of the drag strip
during the second round of Nitro Harley qualifying Friday night,
May 29, 2015 at the Nitro Jam Summer Nationals at Cordova
International Raceway in Illinois.
March 9
Took a ride on his road bike. Getting stronger
Still in Therapy. Range of motion is improving.
Needed another surgery on foot. Doing well.
Still in therapy. Able to walk slowly.
August 17
All casts are finally off. Still can't walk for at least 3 more
weeks. More physical therapy is needed.
July 11
Larry is doing well and fighting hard. He is looking forward to
getting out. He has a long road ahead of him. He wants to
thank everyone for their continued prayers and support.
July 5
He is able to put pressure on foot with hard cast.
July 1
Still in Rehab. Working hard. Only able to continue therapy on
June 14
Began physical therapy on one arm.
June 12
He took a medivac.  Larry is now in rehab in NJ. Still has a long
road ahead of him; though, he is definitely improving.
June 8
Larry is getting better each day. He is fighting hard. He got a
smaller cast put on his arm which makes it more mobile.
June 4
Larry is out of ICU. They took off his neck brace. He's had 2
surgeries and more to come. He suffered a broken shoulder,
arm and wrist, 4 compound fractures in foot and brain bleed.
He is progressing.
June 2
Larry has endured multiple fractures and has undergone a
couple of surgeries. He is in stable condition.
May 29, 2015
Sent to Illinois hospital. Transferred to University of Iowa.
